Towhidul Islam is an Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, University of Guelph in Canada. He held post-doctoral fellowships at The University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia, and at the Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada. He has an M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering and MBA from Dhaka University, and a DIC (Diploma of Imperial College) and Ph.D. in Management Science (1996) from Imperial College, University of London. He has been awarded the Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal from Dhaka University, a Commonwealth Scholarship for doctoral research, and the Psion prize for the best doctoral thesis for the year 1995-1996. His current research is on multinational diffusion of innovations, and modeling trial and repeats of consumer packaged goods. He has authored or co-authored numerous articles which have appeared in Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Forecasting, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change .
