David Loomis received his Ph.D. from Temple University in 1995. He is currently assistant professor of economics at  Illinois State University and Chair of the International Communications Forecasting Conference. Prior to joining the faculty   in 1996, David worked as a research economist at Bell Atlantic Corporation for 11 years focusing on issues of forecasting and demand analysis.

David's research interests are in forecasting, demand analysis, telecommunications and regulation. He is co-editor of The Future of the Telecommunications Industry, Forecasting and Demand Analysis He received a University Outstanding Teaching Initiative Award at ISU in 1999.
