Gene Rowe gained his PhD from the Bristol Business School at the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE). After an extended spell at the Business >School, he transferred first to a Psychology Department (at the University of Surrey) and then to a Consumer Science Department (at the Institute of Food Research, Norwich - where he currently resides). His research interests have ranged from expert systems and group decision support to judgment and decision making more generally. Lately, he has been involved in research on risk perception and public participation mechanisms in risk assessment and management. Alas, his past forecasts of personal wealth and glory have proven to be shockingly inaccurate.
