Thomas R. Stewart is Director of the Center for Policy Research, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, State University New York. He received his Ph.D. in quantitative psychology from the University of Illinois and was formerly with the Graduate School of Public Affairs and the Center for Research on Judgment and Policy at the University of Colorado. He specializes in theoretical, methodological, and applied studies of judgment and decision making, and is particularly interested in expert judgment and medical decision making. His specific interests include methods of judgment analysis and the decomposition of judgmental skills, studies of judgment in medicine, forecasting, and global environmental change, and the role of scientific uncertainty and disagreement in policy formation.
